Assemblywoman Edgeworth represents Nevada’s 35th Assembly District and is the only practicing physician serving in the Assembly. She earned her M.D. from the University of South Florida and has dedicated much of her career to serving Southern Nevada’s communities through organizations such as Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada and the Southern Nevada Homelessness Continuum of Care. In addition to her legislative service, Dr. Edgeworth is a professor at Touro University Nevada, where she teaches didactic and clinical medicine, helping train the next generation of healthcare professionals.

 

In the 2025 legislative session, Edgeworth posted a 67 percent success rate on her sponsored bills – tying for the highest among her caucus. Her legislative accomplishments include AB380, which revises the composition and oversight of mobile crisis response teams to improve coordination during mental health emergencies; AB221, which modernizes licensing requirements for healthcare providers administering anesthesia; and AB161, which strengthens hospice patient protections by requiring informed consent for treatment, timely notification of care changes, and clear disclosure of patient rights.
